Eli5 How does cloning animals work?

I saw an article of the black foot ferret being successfully cloned and was just wondering the process of cloning.

You take an egg cell from a donor animal and remove the DNA from it so it’s basically an empty cell. Then you take a cell from the animal you want to clone, remove the DNA from that animal, and put it inside the empty donor egg. Then you stimulate the egg to divide and it will behave as if it’s a newly fertilized egg and form an organism that’s a genetic duplicate of the animal the DNA was taken from.
