Eli5 how does nic develop into a habit from beginner use to struggling to get off it

Barely started and can put it down whenever. I’m worried it won’t be so easy later on. Personal testimonials anyone?

I’m not sure what’s the science behind it is but basically it’s like coffee, your body gets used to having nicotine inside it. You brain gets used to it too because it becomes a habit and it also links it with positive things even if it’s not true like relaxing. Then whenever you experience something negative you may think that you need a cigarette or something that has nicotine in it. When you’re beginning it’s mostly for social stuff, even more if you grew up around people who used it
