I thought the hypothalamus was our body’s internal thermometer?

I’m not educated in biology or anything. It was just a general idea I had. Open to corrections.

We have receptors that gives information to our brain on how to react. These receptors that interpret temperature are found inside our skin at the nerve endings and they are called thermoreceptors.

Tltr: nerve endings send information to differiate cold from heat through past experiences in brain.
