You make money in foreign country. Then send it back home to family. Family then spends the money in your home country, thereby helping it grow.
Remittances. People send their earnings back home to help out family members.
Also, many immigrants set up import/export business helping to create new markets for foreign goods in their new homes (think about all the Iranian Americans who sell Persian rugs in the US, for example)
If you live and work in another country you still pay taxes to your home country. the irs always gets their share
Besides all the “directly sending money back” benefits, you working and living abroad and making connections acts as an advertisement for your country, growing its soft power, if only a little. For example, if you are from Japan and introduce your friends to Japanese food or music, they will be more likely to look upon Japan favorably and may even decide to vacation there.
