If a display is 1920×1080 or 2 megapixels then wouldn’t anything above a 2MP camera be unnoticeable. Probably a stupid question but just wondering.

Yes, a regular HD display can’t display more than 2 MP at once.
But with more megapixels you’re able to zoom in further without losing quality.
