after an injury, blood vessels constrict, platlets aggregate, and plasma proteins clot in order to stop bleeding. Then through a series of signals sent, white blood cells migragte to the wound after to deal with bacteria possibly contaminating the wound. they also send signals for the regeneration of tissue and vessels. finally, fibroblasts form collagen which tightens the tissues. at the end there is a phase lasting up to a year called the remoddeling phase in which the body remodels the structure of the connective tissue
