Eli5 if electric vehicles are better for the environment than fossil fuel, why isn’t there any emphasis on heating homes with electricity rather gas or oil?

There is, but geothermal is even better than electricity. There’s companies replacing oil heaters up in the north east with super efficient geo thermal. Gas has been popular because it’s cheap and reliable. Stop subsidizing gas and oil and watch people scramble for electric and geo thermal heat.
