ELI5, if humans have diff hands, then why similar palms?

I heard from people that everyones hands are different. but i’ve noticed a lot of people have a M/W shape (depends on how you flip it) on the middle of their palm, I thought everyones hands were different until I just now realized.

Bend your fingers while looking at your palm and you’ll have your answer. We all use our fingers in essentially the same way causing similar creases, much like people get crows feet and laugh lines in the same places.
