Eli5: If pain is mostly constructed in the brain based on what happens to you, are there any medical conditions/accidents that could induce these brain signals to create heavy pain when nothing at all is even happening?

i.e. Is there some medical accident that could make you feel like you got kicked in the balls when you didn’t even get kicked in the balls?

I have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. My brain creates pain in my legs, feet and hands that feels like I’m being jabbed with white hot needles constantly. It’s a stinging, burning sensation. My nerves send my brain pain signals constantly and confuse certain things as pain. For example, our super soft, plush carpet feels like I’m walking on broken glass. Sometimes my blankets feel like sandy against my legs. It’s 24/7, there’s no cure and because I also have RA, I’m never NOT in pain. Pain meds, cannabis and therapy are all I have to keep me from harming myself in a permanent way. If you get what I’m saying.
