Eli5 in the unit circle, what is the method for finding a trig function based off an angle or radiant? For example tan(135°)

Cosine is the x coordinate
Sine is the y coordinate.
Tangent is y/x.
For 135, it’s a 45 degree angle in the second quadrant. Y and X are the same, so the ratio is 1. Y is positive, x is negative so the sign is negative. Answer is -1.
