Boyfriend cheated on me a few years ago, I stayed (not the point of the post). Recently I saw a text come through on his phone in response to his question “how do I get the alias for an IP address?” I have searched and searched and still cannot understand the things I’m reading. Can someone explain this to me? Trying to figure out if it’s a sketchy question.

I think hes just tryinf to create a website. He is trying to convert an ip address that everyone has .. such as 198.164.87.50 to www.website.com.
Or he is trying to get a website such as www.website.com to come up as *.website.com
So it could be website.com… mysite.website.com .. etc. All linking to the same site.
