ELI5, Is hibernation of bears a psychological or behaviour adaption?

I’ve always been confused about this because of the fact that bears go to hibernation in the winter but when they go through hibernation their metabolic rate also lowers so is hibernation behavioural or Psychological Adaption of bears.
