Eli5: Is there a level of tv/monitor resolution beyond which the human eye cannot detect further improvement?

but basically, our brains are both awesome and terrible at decoding what our eyes see. It has its own image processing algorithms that are not designed for pixels and bits. And while we may not be able to make out the individual pixels, it does affect how it interprets them.
Its likely that there will be an upper bound for pixel density, but it seems that we havent reached it yet. atleast not on 55-65″ TVs up to 8k.
