ELI5- Retinal tear and eye movement

Question

Do eye movements have the potential to cause retinal tear? Came across some eye “stretching” exercises which require one to look far up/down/left/right. Could moving your eyes to far periphery cause retinal tear if you have lattice degeneration? Had mine lasered about 6 weeks ago, tried looking far up which made my eyes hurt a bit.
