Sorry if it’s been asked before but how come we can look up and see stars but when NASA releases photos taken in space it’s just a black abyss with no stars at all?

Try to use your phone camera to take a picture of stars. Better yet try to use your phone camera to take a picture of something lit on the ground against the night sky with stars visible.
