WE is/was a group of shady “charities” that exploits young Canadians and people in developing countries by convincing Canadian students to pay large sums of money to “volunteer” in developing countries.
This practice, called “voluntourism” harms developing countries by sending unskilled kids to pretend to build a schoolhouse, dig a well, or some other work that could easily done by a local person, essentially taking the livelihood away from workers in those countries.
On top of that, a few of the PM’s family members took large sums of money for speaking engagements for them. It got to the point that Trudeau shut Parliament down for a few weeks to avoid having to answer any questions about it.
