After painstakingly installing printer drivers for a thermal printer at work I realized I still don’t truly understand what I was installing. (Bonus points if you can cover video card drivers too cause idk what drivers are In that sense either)

Basically you plug something in your computer and your computer is like “ayyo i don’t know how to talk to this shit. I’ve never seen this mouse, let alone the wonky chip it’s using” and you’re like “no worries homes, see this driver here? It says if i use this button i want you to do this, also if you want to do this then you say it like this to the mouse” and your computer is like “thanks bro now i can talk with mouse”
