Pulse: Imagine your heart is like a hardworking drum, always beating to pump blood throughout your body. When you feel your heartbeat on your wrist or neck, that’s your pulse! Counting your pulse helps doctors know how fast your heart is beating, and it can tell them if your heart is healthy and strong.

Blood Pressure: Think of your blood as tiny helpers carrying oxygen and nutrients to all parts of your body. Blood pressure is like a measure of how hard these tiny helpers are pushing against the walls of your blood vessels. When the pressure goes up, it means the helpers are pushing harder, and when it goes down, they’re being gentler.

The two numbers in blood pressure show different things. The top number tells how hard the helpers push when your heart squeezes to pump blood (this is called systolic pressure). The bottom number shows the pressure when your heart relaxes between beats (this is called diastolic pressure).

Doctors check pulse and blood pressure to make sure your heart and body are healthy. If they find anything unusual, they can help you stay strong and well!
