Probably postnasal drip — secretions from the nose that drain down into the throat, causing congestion, throat tickles, and cough. Postnasal drip is usually caused by allergies or the common cold. Postnasal drip can also be caused by cold temperatures, dry air, hormonal changes, certain foods, chemical irritants, and nasal sprays. Source: Mayo Clinic
