eli5. What does 2218 with a rune number being worn by a Nazi mean?

I saw it on the back of those Nazis that marched in Nashville. With what I believe to have a rune symbol underneath. The only thing I can find is it’s an angel #. It doesn’t make sense. Thanks for your help.

The purpose of codes is to not be understood by outsiders. It’s a deliberate way to create plausible deniability. As a result, it’s not possible to be 100% sure what this means. Any plausible deniability obviously vanishes entirely, though, as soon as you see someone marching openly alongside other open Nazis.

So the way it has worked with Nazis in the past, [numbers are substituted](https://www.adl.org/resources/hate-symbols/search?f%5B0%5D=topic%3A1709) for the first letter of words to represent a phrase. The Anti-Defamation League at that link records “18” as standing for “Adolf Hitler”. This is because A is the 1st letter of the alphabet, and H is the 8th.

So then some other folks [elsewhere here on Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/1auuxwp/comment/kr6o2m1/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) say that “2218” specifically stands for “Bring Back Adolf Hitler”.

But is that for sure what it means? Who knows. The 22nd letter of the alphabet is V, so maybe it actually stands for “Victorious Adolf Hitler” The 18th letter of the alphabet is R, so maybe it stands for “Victorious Reich”. Maybe it stands for “Bring Back the Reich”. I’m not seeing any resources online either, to know for sure.

2218 is basic code: if you just substitute 2218 for the letters in the alphabet in order, you get BBAH, which presumably stands for “bring back Adolf Hitler”. It’s much like Nazi code 1488, which is a little bit more complex since it stands for “the fourteen words; Heil Hitler” where “the fourteen words” is a white supremacist slogan. (Depending on which Nazi you talk to, the 88 might also be explained as referring to the “88 Precepts”, another white supremacist document, but it’s originally just because it stands for Heil Hitler. That’s why it was 88 precepts in the first place.)

It means that they are part of some underground club that likes to have sex forced upon them, by people of the same gender, but of a different race. It’s like dungeons and dragons but with members sharing rape fantasy fetishes, but without the fantasy. From what I saw on dateline NBC it’s an offshoot of G.A.S.H. gay Arian skin heads. And just to clarify, there aren’t such things as Nazis. Nazis were made up by the Jews to justify genocide because they no longer like humus, despite it being healthy and nutritious and a main dish in the country they feel entitled to, cos someone crucified there savior.
