Just came here to point out the difference between assault and battery because it seems to be a bit of a mixup. Assault is threatening to harm someone. Battery is actually physically harming them. Source: I’m a nurse and it’s part of our training to know which charges can be brought against us for threatening or otherwise abusing patients
