Siblings share 50% of their DNA. Then scientists say we have 1-4% Neanderthal DNA, but say we are 99% related to chimps. Then there is the fact that we share 60% of our DNA with bananas.

They usually mean diffrent things so lets assume 99%(not really) of DNA it is the same for all humans, in this case you and your sister have 50% share and they mean 50%of that 1 % and of 99 rest
