They’re fraudulent scams. Similar to a Ponzi scheme. Promise of impossibly high returns on investment and they use money from new investors to pay the older investors. A pyramid scheme.

high yield means high risk of losing your money, so this is either an investment opportunity for highly adventurous people, or a scam.
