Alright, so do you know what a government is? A government is a group of people that makes rules for everybody that lives in a country, kind of like a school principal or a coach.

You know, rules like; you have to wear a seatbelt, you can’t hit anyone or that mom and dad have to go to work to make money.

Anarchism is when people say they don’t need someone to tell them what to do, and that everyone should be free to make their own rules. They don’t want governments to exist.

It’s like if everyone in the classroom was allowed to do whatever they want, without a teacher to tell them what to do.

This can be good because people have more freedom, but it can also be bad because people might do bad things.

Now, you know how there are different kinds of schools and some kids maybe like one school more than another because it has different rules and activities?

Well, with anarchism there are all these schools, but instead of being about learning stuff, it’s about how people work and make decisions together. They all have different ideas and rules about how anarchism should work.

One of these schools is called anarcho-syndicalism.

Instead of just trying to close the government, they also try to challenge the boss where they work. They want to try and make their friends at work get together and talk about what they can do and say to their boss to make their job more fun. Also, they want to make it so that people don’t have work just to make money.

You know how some people have lots and lots of money and some people have almost nothing? Well, those who like this anarcho-syndicalism school want to make it more fair by putting all of our money in a big pile and then give as much to each person as they actually need.

This is different from other forms of anarchism because it focuses on helping people at their jobs and in their neighborhoods instead of just fighting against the rule makers in the government.
