They’ll be arrested and charged. If it’s in the U.S., they’ll be charged in either state or federal court depending on the specific crime. In other words, the exact same thing that happens when someone commits a crime literally anywhere else. What exactly did you think was going to be the answer to this?

Typical lawyer answer: It depends. Airports are generally owned by the city or state that it resides but is operated by the federal government. Some are even privately owned. Depending on the crime, type/location/severity, when someone commits a crime in an airport they can face city/state and federal prosecution if caught. Thanks to “separate sovereigns” doctrine you can be charged for a crime in both state and federal courts for the same crime. For example, trying to smuggle a controlled substance.
