What happens to them after a significant amount of mileage is between the fly/wasp from there home?

Depends on the type of insect.

Insects that live in a colony like ants or bees? They’ll probably die after losing their hone/colony.

Insects that don’t, like flies/wasps (I know some kinds of wasps do live in big nests but some can also just venture out on their own) they’ll probably just live a normal life assuming they can find food and other bugs of their same kind to mate with, and assuming that the climate isn’t too much different. (If you drove form a decently warm place like Florida in the winter, all the way to Vermont where it’s really cold in the winter, the cold would kill it.)
