Eli5: What is a null hypothesis and how do type 1 and type 2 errors work.

If you were 5 I would say: null hypothesis is like the opposite of what you were trying to prove.
Type 1 error is the chance that you find a difference, but there wasn’t one. False positive.
Type 2 is chance you didn’t find a difference when there was one. False negative.
