Industry plants are people who are artificially boosted into fame but in a seemingly organic way. Usually these people are related to movie or music executives in some way. The “industry” doesn’t do this, it’s really just nepotism.
Industry plant is someone who doesn’t blow up naturally but is pushed into the fame by certain people backing them. Think of it as an investment. You put a bunch of money into someone to gain a following, and they start to make money, and you get your money back plus more. It’s almost artificial fame
