It’s when poo gets stuck in your intestines. We feel pain because our intestines have nerves and pain receptors.

There are lots of reasons that poo would get stuck, but a big cause is basically lack of water in your waste — that can be from dehydration, taking medications, or other causes. Your poo becomes rock-like and hard, and builds up and eventually it cannot be moved through your intestines. So it blocks them.

Constipation is when waste (poop) gets wedged in your intestines. Your intestines are awfully loopy inside you, and not very smooth. So sometimes when you try to push something through, if it’s too big or not lubricated enough with water then it can cause the poop to get stuck inside those loopy tunnels.
