I wanna do dropshipping and it seems interesting but I just wanna make sure its what I think it is

Drop shipping means, you order at compay A, then Company A calls up company B, and company B ships the product.
For example, if you look at Amazon, it might say ‘Sold by a 3rd party vendor’
That 3rd party vendor is shipping the product, not amazon.
Drop shipping is a tough market to get into. Why would I buy something from PastImportance2237.com when I could get it from well established places like Amazon or Walmart.com? Even ON Amazon I’d rather get it from Amazon than some random third party seller.
