Karl Marx’s alienation theory is all about the ways in which workers are alienated from their work. alienation is when someone feels like they don’t have control over their own life or work, and they feel like they’re not really part of the process. Marx believed that capitalism alienates workers because they don’t own their own labor – they sell their labor to the capitalists, who then own the products of that labor. This means that workers are unable to control their own work, and they don’t really have a stake in the products they produce. Marx thought that this was a major source of unhappiness and alienation in society, and he believed that socialism would be a way to overcome this.
