Eli5: What is the difference between cleanser, moisturizer, and lotion, and when and where should I use said cleanser, moisturizer, and lotion.

Cleanser is a fancy word for soap. You use it to clean off dirt/oils/makeup from your face, apply, rub with water and rinse off. Moisturizer is usually in reference to the face and is used after cleanser to replenish your skin with hydration. You rub it in and let soak in. Lotion usually is in reference to your body/hands/feet and is applied whenever you’d like to provide moisture back to your skin.
