ELI5. What is the difference between Neo-institutionalism, critical modernism, and post-modernism

I understand it as, neo-institualists prioritize efficiency and economy. Modernists prioritize social services. And post-modernism prioritize the existing culture. Am I on the right track or have I been terribly misguided.

In what field?

Post-modernism in particular has a fluid definition. It was an artistic movement that started getting used to describe a number of different philosophic and political positions. As a result, knowing that someone is for or against post-modernism doesn’t tell you much about what they think.

So it is important to know the context in order to define these terms.
