Long story short, The brain basically minimizes “surprises” or uncertainties and instead uses what it already knows to do predictions during the learning process.

The brain’s neuron system essentially strengthens and weakens connection to distinguish 2 sensory inputs. This is what we call learning. And Free energy theory states that these reorganizations will always go down a path that reduces free energy (chaos/uncertainty).

Think of it as going to a new store. you go there for 10 days straight following the same path. you will remember the intersection, the path, and the store and you can recreate the route in your mind. but you won’t be predicting the car on the road or the weather because its uncertain.
