I feel like these comments were still complicated. Basically the actors aren’t getting paid a reasonable wage. When shows aired on cable, they made money based on that and maybe money for showing up to produce the show/ movie. When everything went to streaming services, there wasn’t a switch in how actors were being paid. So now we have all the shows on streaming services but the actors aren’t paid for that.
The writers are protesting because they had a similar pay structure but it was even worse. Then company’s wanted to use AI to write tv shows by feeding the AI scripts written by said writers. Which means they wouldn’t have to pay real human writers.
