eli5 What is the Schumann’s Resonance?

I have been seeing a lot of videos about the Schumann Resonance being incredibly high/distorted(?) in the past couple of days and that this is a new phenomenon and it is freaking out spiritual TikTok. I don’t know what this is about or if this is even important.
Is this something that is actually important to the Earth or is this just something that people are getting gung-ho about because it sounds mystic and intellectual?
I don’t even know if the tag is technically correct.

Schumann resonance is the phenomenon that because the surface of the earth is somewhat conductive (mostly due to saltwater) and the ionosphere (a part of the atmosphere about 100km above the ground) is also conductive, they form a resonator and electromagnetic radiation of certain frequencies can resonate around the circumference of the earth. Lightning strikes generally cause these electromagnetic waves and due to the resonance they can be picked up by sensitive antennas around the world.

I haven’t been able to find anything about a sudden increase of Schumann resonance, but there are papers linking increasing global temperatures to increased Schumann resonance.

The amplitude of Schumann resonance is minimal though and there is no evidence that it has a significant effect on humans or anything else really so all the stuff you see on TikTok is pseudoscience at best.
