I don’t think there’s really a whole lot of science or theory behind it. Pants just don’t tend to get dirty or smelly as quickly as the rest of your clothes do, so they don’t need to be washed nearly as often.
Shirts get stinky and/or sweaty from your armpits. Socks and underwear also get gross after one wearing because of the parts of your body they’re in contact with.
Jeans, as long as you’re not crawling around in dirty/wet places or spilling stuff on them daily, don’t need to be washed after every wearing because they’re not typically in direct contact with smelly parts of your body.
