I understand there is an anti virus Crowdstrike that is behind this error. But what exactly is happening? Was it just a bad/erroneous update? Or is there an actual cyber security breach?
Also, can this blue screen error on bootup be fixed remotely? Wouod everyone have to travel to office to get it fixed?
How long will it take to resolve this – couple of hours, or more like a week

As far as the news and official announcements say, it’s not a breach. The software that detects and protects against breaches included *something* that’s causing Windows machines to blue screen, but they don’t know exactly what that something is. Since they’re still investigating what the root cause is, nobody can say how long it will take to be fixed. There is a workaround, though, which involves booting into safe mode and deleting a specific file in the Crowdstrike directory. Not recommended for people who aren’t computer literate enough to know what a “safe mode” or a “directory” are.
