I know knitting makes clothes but can you make clothes out of crochet too?

They are different forms of hooking, looping, and knotting long strands of (typically) yarn together. Either can be used to make little patterns in color or texture, for building just about any cloth or fabric purpose, such as clothes.

Knitting is done with longer, straight “needles” (they’re pointy, but not like on a syringe). Crocheting is done with a hook at the end of their tool. Both take one part of a strand, or a separate strand, and twist around another part or separate strand, building on previous work as the project progresses.

The patterns for knit materials tend to be more uniform over large planes, while crochet patterns more often have gaps and texture. However, both can do either.
