Culture: British people like to drink tea.

Stereotype: She’s British, so she prefers tea over coffee.

Culture: Asian-American families tend to place a high emphasis on good grades in school, especially in subjects like Math.

Stereotype: He’s Asian-American, so he’s a math nerd.

A stereotype is when you assume something is true about an individual person based on something like their physical appearance, their ancestry, etc. – it isn’t necessary something negative.
