ELi5: When modern devices say they support GPS, QZSS, BEIDOU, GALILEO, and GLONASS, do they actively search all the satellites or lock to a specific constellation system?

Does having all these additional satellites make our location more precise? Or it’s up to dual-frequency?

They can use multiple systems at the same time. More satellites result in a more accurate position, primarily when you move around and object close to you can block the signal from some of the satellites.
