There are. [Elliptical galaxies](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliptical_galaxy) (from which Sphrerical galaxies are a subset, called E0) are among the oldest, and they’re one of the four types of galaxies described by Hubble. It is thought that all other types eventually become elliptical.
