ELi5: Why are humans rather obsessed with having most of things set to an even number? It’s almost an internal crime to set the volume on the TV to 19 instead of 20, or set the brightness to 59 instead of 60.

I don’t have this feeling – I always wanted to have more prezise numbers because most of the time 19 is to quiet and 20 is loud is as hell so a 19.7 would be nice.
