eli5: Why can you only learn your proper tire pressure from the car and not from the tires themselves. Wouldn’t different kinds of tires need different pressures on the same car?

Same tires, different cars = different recommended tire pressure

Different tires, same car = same recommended tire pressure

This doesn’t make sense to me. Why is this?

Different tyres (as in different sizes) will need different pressure. The info in the door jamb refers to the oem spec tyres. So two different trim levels of the same vehicle will have different info if they have different wheels (rims). But within that oem spec any manufacturer’s tyres will require the same pressure.
