Any athlete that eats raw eggs has been severely misinformed.
Eggs that are cooked have FAR more readily absorbable protein in them than raw eggs do, and they aren’t a risk for salmonella.
Raw eggs:
1. Poor digestibility
2. Less protein absorption
3. Risk of bacterial infection (Salmonella)
4. May block the absorption of protein

I’ve been doing it all my life. It’s fine but you should definitely only eat it fresh. Similar to how people drink fresh uncooked eggs as a hangover cure or work out thing. It’s fine but there is a small risk, you should only use fresh eggs that have been handled properly and you shouldn’t let it sit out at all.
if you want to let your kids lick the spoon or have a taste of dough do so. sure there are some risks but if you refuse to eat slightly unsafe stuff you’ll just grow up with a shit immune system.
Plenty of consumables are not supposed to be eaten raw and will make you sick, but a bite or 2 will hardly cause any issues.
