ELI5, Why can’t we remember what we saw/experienced when we were inside the womb?

The cells of our brain are still developing, and the connections between our brain cells are also still developing. These connections are required before we can form memories. This process takes years to properly complete for humans, which is why most people don’t remember their time as a baby.
