I totally get beer goggles or being more extroverted when drunk, lower inhibitions, worse judgement and all that.
But how does it change why we want to do. If I’m sober i actively dislike the dancefloor, I don’t know what to do, and i don’t see the point? If I’m already drunk though, i absolutely love it?
Same thing with cigarettes, i have friends you couldn’t pay to smoke while sober. Or making plans you would never ever make while sober?

Alcohol, and it’s metabolized product, acetylaldehyde, slows nerve conduction , which means like going from highspeed internet to something like dial up (for example)
When you have enough of it In your system, things go slower in your head, so those two chunks of your brain mentioned above won’t work or respond as quickly to stop you doing things that you normally wouldn’t , or feared

I don’t smoke because i hate it, i don’t like the taste of it at all. But when i’m getting drunk i do like cigarettes.
For me, I’m more willing to dance when I’m drunk because in my head I think everyone’s drunk so I’m not getting judged on my crappy dancing. And if people do say something about how bad my dancing is, I just say…well i was drunk. It puts my ego at ease.
