eli5 Why do hotels all over the world, and so many people at their home use white bed sheets? Aren’t they the easiest to stain and a laundry nightmare?

I’d be more worried about mattress stains they cover up.

Do you get into a habit of making a lot of stains on your bed sheets or something?
So what, you’d rather sleep on a dirty sheet?
They’re not easier to stain, they are easier to spot a stain on, big difference. Keeping that in mind, not even sure what you’re getting at, you’re saying it’s better to not see the stains even if they’re there – when it comes to bed ds I think most people would prefer to know if they’re sleeping a stained bed.
Bleach is the real answer.
With bleach you can get the vast majority of stains out.
Blood is still gonna show up on an orange blanket. But you can’t bleach it to get the stain out because it will ruin the blanket.
