General rule of life: If it moves, it wears down. There’s no exceptions to this, and all an engineer can do when designing a product is affect how it wears down, and how long it takes to do so (which means higher quality materials, and higher cost).
Cars have a lot of moving parts, and those moving parts move *a lot!* Unless your driveshaft, brakes, engine, wheels, door hinges, etc. are all made out of solid diamond and quantum mystery matter, it’s going to wear down, and eventually fixing it isn’t worth the cost anymore.
