Why do orally medications not work when you have diarrhea? Aren’t they already resolved in your stomach acid by that point?

Much of the absorption of food, nutrients and many drugs takes place in the intestines. If you have diarrhea the intake transits through the intestines too quickly and isn’t fully absorbed, hence why diarrhea is often watery

Medications have different route of absorption. Mostly are absorbed through the stomach and intestines.
During diarrhea, you can say stomach is upset so medications can not stay there and get absorbed.
Similar concept as if you vomit after taking the medication, it wont work and you have to take the medicine again.
